a place where sound,
design, and energy
come together.

honey lou was born from a desire to create a bar where warmth, music, and human connection take centre stage.

"a warmth you'll struggle to find anywhere else in this often cold city."

the building

1908. still a bar.

from the start, we knew the light had to be sunset orange. a feeling of endless sunsets, radiating warmth, energy, and connection.

we combined two worlds: the charm of an old berlin kneipe, with our 1910 bar counter, and the sleek accents of modern elegance.

a stylish yet grounded space, where tradition meets contemporary design.

why honey lou

we found the honey
in ludwig.

the street is named after ludwig anzengruber, a 19th-century writer from vienna.

the building, constructed in 1908, has hosted various bars over the years, each incorporating ludwig's name — ludwigs, ludis, anze, anzengruberin.

we wanted to maintain this connection in our own way. that's how we found the honey in ludwig.

"'honey' because they wanted it
to be a sweet place for sweet people."

the founders

we built honey lou because warmth, music and human connection should take centre stage. that's still the whole thing.
